Two potatoes growing art in London.
When people first hear the name “Potato Art Studio”, one of the first questions they ask is: “Why potato?” The answer is actually something simple and personal.
Potato Art Studio was founded by Kevin and Rosa, a couple who both love creativity, handcrafting, and creating experiences that bring people together. Before the studio existed, they often hosted small crafting nights at home with friends, spending evenings making things, chatting, and sharing ideas together.
Over time, their friends started calling them “Mr & Ms Potato”, and somehow the nickname just stayed. What began as a small inside joke slowly became part of their identity, and eventually became the name of the studio itself.
But the idea behind the studio started with a feeling.
After living in London and experiencing how fast-paced daily life can become, Kevin and Rosa wanted to create a space where people could slow down for a while. A place that felt calm, welcoming, and pressure-free; somewhere people could come without needing to be “good at art” and simply enjoy making something with their hands.
From pottery painting and fluid art to cream gel decorating and handmade crafts, the studio was designed to be a creative space for everyone. Whether someone visits alone for a quiet “me time”, comes with friends, celebrates a birthday, or plans a date night in London, the goal has always been the same: to create activities that help people relax, connect, and enjoy the beauty of art in an approachable way.
One of the most important things for the team has always been making art feel accessible. Walking into an art studio can sometimes feel intimidating, especially for beginners, so they wanted the space to feel friendly rather than formal. The team guides guests step by step, helping them enjoy the process instead of worrying about perfection.
Today, the studio continues to grow across London, but the heart behind it remains the same: creating a warm little corner where people can slow down, connect with others, and make something meaningful together.
