A New Creative Escape is Coming to Canary Wharf This Summer

Canary Wharf has changed.

Once known primarily as London's financial district, the area has evolved into one of the city's most exciting lifestyle destinations. Around Wood Wharf, office towers now sit alongside independent cafés, waterside restaurants, fitness studios, and vibrant public spaces. On weekends, families stroll along the waterfront, friends gather for brunch, and professionals swap their desks for evening drinks by the dock.

This summer, Potato Art Studio is excited to become part of that growing community.

Opening in early July 2026, our new Canary Wharf location has been designed as a welcoming creative space where people can slow down, make something with their hands, and spend quality time together. Located just a short walk from both the Elizabeth and Jubilee lines, the studio brings a different kind of experience to one of London's fastest-growing neighbourhoods.

As a small independent creative business, we have always believed that art should be accessible, relaxing, and enjoyable for everyone. After welcoming thousands of visitors to our existing studios, we are thrilled to bring our creative experiences to East London.

Why Canary Wharf?

When we first visited Wood Wharf, we immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. The striking red-brick buildings, modern waterfront architecture, and lively mix of cafés, restaurants, gyms, and offices create a neighbourhood that feels energetic yet surprisingly relaxed.

It is a place where people come not only to work, but increasingly to socialise, explore, and enjoy their free time. Whether you're meeting friends for coffee, heading to a yoga class, enjoying dinner by the water, or spending the weekend with family, the area offers something for everyone.

We wanted to contribute something different to this growing community: a place where people can step away from their screens, reconnect with their creativity, and enjoy making something with their own hands.

Our goal is simple, to bring the joy of creativity to office workers, local families, couples, and visitors looking for unique things to do in Canary Wharf.

Creative Activities for Everyone

Whether you're planning an after-work catch-up, a creative date night, a family outing, or simply looking for a new hobby, the studio offers a range of experiences designed for complete beginners and seasoned makers alike.

Guests can explore the colourful world of Fluid Art, creating unique Fluid Bears, Balloon Dogs, Night Lights, and abstract canvas pieces. Watching colours flow and blend into unexpected patterns is both relaxing and exciting, with every artwork becoming completely one of a kind.

For those who enjoy adding personal touches, our popular Cream Gel sessions will also be available. With over 500 different decorations and charms to choose from, visitors can customise phone cases, mirrors, lamps, hair clips, and more, creating pieces that reflect their own personality and style.

Pottery lovers will find plenty to explore as well. From painting mugs, bowls, plates, and money banks to joining our pottery hand-building workshops, guests can enjoy a slower and more immersive creative experience. Whether you're shaping a vase from scratch or painting a piece for your home, every creation is professionally glazed and kiln-fired at our dedicated pottery facility nearby.

No experience is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to create.

More Than Just an Art Studio

The new Canary Wharf location has been designed as more than simply a place to make art.

With capacity for up to 45 guests and a private room accommodating up to 15 people, the studio is ideal for birthday parties, corporate team-building events, creative workshops, networking gatherings, and private celebrations.

As more companies look for meaningful alternatives to traditional team socials, creative experiences have become a popular way for colleagues to connect outside the workplace. Our team-building packages can accommodate groups from 10 to 50 guests and can be tailored with creative workshops, drinks packages, private hire options, presentation facilities, decorations, and catering through our trusted partners.

Whether you're organising a birthday party, planning a company event, or celebrating a special occasion, our team can help create an experience tailored to your group.

Drinks, Creativity and Good Company

We believe creativity is best enjoyed alongside good conversation.

Guests will be able to enjoy a carefully selected menu of coffee, tea, soft drinks, wine, beer, and cocktails while they create. Whether you're joining us for a weekend pottery session, celebrating with friends, or unwinding after work, we hope the studio becomes a place where conversations flow as naturally as the creativity.

And because many of our guests love bringing their four-legged friends along for the adventure, well-behaved dogs are always welcome too.

Opening Soon

At Potato Art Studio, we believe art doesn't need to be intimidating. Sometimes it is simply an excuse to spend time together, try something new, and create memories that last long after the paint has dried.

As Canary Wharf continues to evolve into one of London's most vibrant destinations for work, leisure, and community, we are excited to bring a little more creativity to the neighbourhood.

We look forward to welcoming you through our doors this July.
